Our biologists are usually knee-deep in ponds raising fish...not sitting at a desk.
SportFishDirect was built by fish people, not a call center. Most of our team spends their days raising, harvesting, packing, and delivering fish across the United States. Because of that, we don’t offer live phone support.
We do have a full office staff that handles permitting, scheduling, and order coordination for thousands of orders. However, they aren’t trained biologists — and most phone calls tend to involve detailed stocking or pond management questions. Rather than pulling our field experts away from their work (and your fish), we keep communication in writing to ensure you get the correct answers. Our biologists are more than happy to return messages with technical questions when they finish their work at the end of each day and their hands are free.
We also handle all order communication via email or text to ensure no important details regarding your orders get lost. When it comes to fish stocking, recommendations, order numbers, and delivery timing, accuracy matters. Keeping everything documented protects both you and us.
